Composting
Composting is the natural way of recycling by returning organic waste to the land from whence it came. This is one of our most basic means of conservation, ensuring that our childrens children will have the same glorious planet earth that we do now. The way I see it, composting is a critical part of an efficient earth friendly home as well as a down right responsiblity to good planet management.
The average american household throws away 10% of the food that is brought into the home. This has a tremendous environnmental impact on the earth. Think about the loss to the earth from which it came, the energy wasted producing the crops, transportating the produced food to the market and then again to the "waste" dump or landfill. It is truly staggering. By responsibly composting we are fullfilling our fiduciary responsibility to the earth. Not to mention the sense of satisfaction and independence that we feel from acting responsibly. Fortunately there are many types of composters on the market from which to choose.
